What is a Landrace?

Cannabis, originally widespread across the globe, exhibits remarkable diversity, varying significantly across different regions. From compact indicas thriving in the chilly heights of the Hindu Kush to the tall, sprawling sativas on the sun-soaked Caribbean islands, the plant adapts uniquely to its surroundings.

A Landrace cannabis plant is a strain which can be found in a certain location, or region of the planet. While the landrace population expresses similarities that allow it to be identified as a member of that population; landraces are also genetically dynamic, and would show far more variation than an Inbred Line, or a stable Hybrid. Landrace strains are the most prized seeds among collectors, not only because of their genetic diversity and therefore their value as a breeding tool but because they are getting ever hard to obtain. Sadly there are not many breeders that will sell these strains, but luckily there are still a few breeders which have decided to give you access to some of their breeding stock.

Afghani - Medicann Seeds

This Middle Eastern landrace strain is relatively quick flowering - for a landrace. She provides the same cannabinoids, and terpenes that would have been found in the renowned Lebanese Red, and Lebanese Blonde hash of the 60's/70's and beyond. This landrace strain is a 100% pure Sativa strain, that is very resistant to drought and heat. The strain is described as having Sweet, Floral, citrus, and mango flavours along with a high amount of CBD (6% - 16%).



Ethiopian  - Ace Seeds

This Ethiopian landrace strain by Ace Seeds has a long flowering time (13-14 weeks), but a good yield. The strain has a lot of resistance to mould, moisture, and high temperatures with an outdoor harvest time of the 3rd week in November. The flavour of her flowers are described as earthy and woodsy; floral and musky, with notes of citrus. This 100% landrace sativa is reported as having a cerebral, uplifting and positive/happy effect. This strain carries a significant amount of THCV, in most cases as much as 2%.



Moroccan Beldia Kif - Ace Seeds

A fantastically fast flowering land race strain from Morocco! Moroccan Beldia Kif is ready after just 7-8 weeks of flowering! This strain is a 100% sativa with high resistance to powder mildew, spider mites, white fly, and high temperatures. The strain is described as having a woodsy, earthy, herbal, spicy flavour, reminiscent of Moroccan hash. The strain also has good drought resistance too.
