Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, Afghanistan was renowned for producing the world's finest hashish, available in tea-houses across the country. This premium hashish was known for its sticky resin, pure color and texture, a sweet tangy taste, and a pleasantly dreamy high. King Saber Shah, the then ruler of Afghanistan, was among its admirers. However, following the king's ousting in 1973 and the subsequent Russian invasion in 1979, the quality of Afghan hashish significantly declined, turning into a poor mix of different plant resins combined with animal fat. The term "Nordle" was a code name used for Afghan hashish smuggled during this era, aiming to rekindle the magical essence of 1960s Afghan hashish in contemporary cultivation and consumption practices.
