Background and Development

The project aimed to create a new strain, Sour Strawberry Kush, involving 24 carat as the autoflower parent, a project close to Mephisto's heart since its completion in 2012/2013. The choice was quickly made to utilize BOG genetics, known for their dense, frosty flowers with unique aromas. Sour Strawberry Kush was selected for its appealing combination of flavors.

Breeding Process

Initial development of 24 carat revealed three phenotypes: green, pink, and purple, with the pink pheno offering a balance of potency and exotic appeal. This pheno was used with Sour Strawberry Kush, focusing on resin abundance, pink hues, and a skunky strawberry flavor, resulting in the well-received Strawberry nuggets.

Growth Characteristics

Strawberry nuggets grows thick and short with a robust stem and branches, producing wide foliage. It requires some maintenance for optimal results, including leaf tucking and careful training. The strain quickly transitions to flowering, demanding a well-prepared environment from the start to manage its dense flowers which require good airflow and low humidity mid-flower onwards. It suits low density SOG setups, displays various phenotypes from green to purple, and exudes exotic fruity smells.

Harvest and Appeal

Strawberry nuggets has a harvest time of 65 days from sprout, yielding dense, aromatic buds high in medicinal qualities. It offers a quick turnover of quality medical cannabis.
