Backcrossing and Phenotypes

The first backcross of SweetChunk F1 with Sweet Pink Grapefruit resulted in phenotypes closely resembling the original SPG clone, despite some splitting into several phenotypes. This cross utilized selected SweetChunk F1 plants and two exceptionally good males, choosing a Sativa and SPG-dominant male for the backcross. The offspring exhibited more delicate leaf shapes and a growth pattern more akin to SPG, deviating significantly from the SweetChunk F1's Deep Chunk dominance, which offered stability and homogeneity.

Phenotypic Characteristics

• Phenotype One: Resembles Sweet Chunk F1 with copious resin, compact buds, and a more indica appearance, alongside a hashy, slightly fruity aroma.
• Phenotype Two: Mirrors the Sweet Pink Grapefruit clone precisely, featuring more sativa-dominant growth, dense inflorescence, and a potent smell.
• Phenotype Three: Aligns with the second phenotype's flavor but is more sativa-dominant, reportedly requiring a few additional days to mature, and has a subtle berry essence. The effect is an evolved version of an Indica/Sativa hybrid with an enhanced stoned, uplifting high, and the yield now parallels SPG.
